Was Thuggie really feral?
Yes. When he first appeared, he was extremely feral and ran from people right away. We had to use special tactics to lure him in.
How did you find The Thug?
He showed up one scorching July afternoon in our fenced backyard in Florida as a tiny, skinny, starving kitten.
How big was the Thug-ster when he was rescued?
He was only about 7 to 8 weeks old. He weighed 2.4 pounds but quickly grew to over 15 lbs!!!
Was Thug-man injured when you found him?
Yes. He had multiple injuries, including an abdominal protrusion and a broken tail, when we found him. He was in very rough shape.
Did Thuggie-baby need surgery?
Yes. He needed surgery very early on to remove the protrusion from his tummy and close his abdominal wall. It was extremely risky because he was so tiny.
Was Thug-bud friendly right away?
Not at first. He started out very feral, but once he was safely cared for and petted, his sweet personality started to come through.
What makes Thuggie so special?
His determination, resilience, and the way he seems to treat every day like the best day ever.
Why does The Thug seem so happy all the time?
From the very beginning, Thug has carried himself like every day is the best day ever. After everything he survived, that joyful little attitude makes him even more inspiring.
What are Thug-o-rama's favorite hobbies?
Thuggie loves watching water, bird surveillance, and dock observation. When he's not floating on his boat, he enjoys carrying his toys around, chasing ice, working on his vocal range, and soaking up life one best-day-ever moment at a time.
